TEMASEK Holdings built holdings of US drugmakers and healthcare companies in the first quarter as the Singapore investment firm expands bets on industries that will benefit from rising life expectancies and a growing middle class in emerging markets.
It bought American depositary receipts (ADRs) of drugmaker Beigene Ltd and added to holdings of healthcare companies including Gilead Sciences Inc, Illumina Inc and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc, according to a Monday filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). It also bought shares in Fidelity National Information Services Inc, a payment service provider and added to its position in the ADRs of JD.Com Inc.
