ThaiBev sees continuing growth
CEO does not expect martial law to have significant impact
DRINKS maker Thai Beverage Public Co expects to continue the momentum of its first-quarter growth despite current political events in Thailand, chief executive Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi said yesterday.
A strategic review of ThaiBev and its investment in Fraser and Neave (F&N) is also targeted for completion in July, he said. For F&N, some of the early synergies will include F&N selling its flagship 100Plus drink in Thailand from the second quarter of 2015.
The Thai military imposed martial law on the country earlier this week. While that would negatively affect consumption, particularly from tourists, Mr Thapana said that he did not expect a significant impact. He was confident that the three months till June should deliver similar performance to the first quarter.
