HE rocked the Internet service space down under last year after snapping up a rival and if Malaysian-born Aussie billionaire David Teoh stays on the overriding theme of his track record - to chip away at rivals' revenue share - his "broadband darling" TPG Telecom is set to shake up Singapore's long-standing cosy network of three mobile operators.
Having emerged as a dark horse and pipped favourite MyRepublic by pushing on with an aggressive bid for new spectrum rights at nearly three times the reserve price - the winning bid costs S$105 million - TPG Telecom will become the fourth player in Singapore to roll out a mobile network.
