THE chief financial officer (CFO) of thumbdrive maker Trek 2000 has been brought in for questioning at Singapore's white collar crime police unit.

Gurcharan Singh, who is also the firm's executive director, was interviewed by the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) in relation to its investigations into a possible offence under chapter 224 of the Penal Code.

The firm's president of regional sales Foo Kok Wah, head of research and development Shew Paul Wale and other employees are also assisting with investigations, Trek 2000 said in an announcement on Wednesday.

Mr Singh was requested to produce, among other things, all corporate related and personal banking documents, diaries, notebooks, organisers, personal email and personal information technology equipment.

The CAD has also requested access to the firm's accounting documents and banking records and corporate secretarial documents for the 2011-2015 financial years. It asked for all documents relating to transactions with Unimicron Technology Corp and Colite Technology.

"The CAD has not given the Company any further details of its investigations and the board is currently not aware if any offence has been committed," said Trek 2000.

"The business and operations of the Company are not affected by the investigations and will continue as normal."
