Venture's Q4 net profit up 3.5% to S$39.3m - highest for past 8 quarters
VENTURE Corporation registered a 3.5 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit, from S$38.01 million to S$39.33 million, for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2014. This marked the highest quarterly net profit for the year, and for the past eight quarters.
Revenue for Q4 FY2014 came in 8.3 per cent higher at S$674.68 million, as compared to S$622.87 million in Q4 FY2013.
Revenue growth for the quarter was driven primarily by strength in the Test & Measurement/Medical & Life Science/Others segment, although this was partially offset by a decline in revenue of the Computer Peripherals & Data Storage segment.
For the full year, Venture's net profit rose 6.6 per cent, from S$131.13 million to S$139.79 million.
Revenue for FY2014 grew 5.8 per cent to S$2.47 billion from the preceding financial year.
Earnings per share stood at 14.3 cents for Q4 FY2014, and 50.9 cents for FY2014. These were up from 13.8 cents in Q4 FY2013 and 47.7 cents for FY2013.
A final cash dividend of 50 cents per ordinary share was declared - the same as the corresponding period in the preceding financial year.
