ELECTRICITY tariffs in the third quarter will be 1.5 Singapore cents, or 7.5 per cent, higher per kilowatt-hour (kWh) than in the previous quarter, taking the total cost of electricity to 22.41 cents per kWh, said SP Services.

The latest hike in tariffs comes from a 15.1 per cent increase in the cost of natural gas for electricity generation from Q2 2015, SP Services said on Tuesday. Singapore gets more than 95 per cent of its energy needs from natural gas.
