NUS, NTU among world's top 200 universities

TWO local institutions - National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) - have moved up the ladder to rank among the world's top 200 universities, according to the 11th annual edition of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2014- 15 released on Wednesday.
Singapore's top-ranked university NUS came in 25th place, inching up one spot from the previous year and hot on the heels of Japan's University of Tokyo - Asia's No 1 - in 23rd position.
NTU, the other local institution which made the list, cemented its status as a rising university on the world stage, leaping from the 76th spot to 61st. With its latest jump, NTU has rocketed up 108 places in the last three years.
