Putien partners Taiwan-listed restaurant firm to start new Taipei outlet
Singapore restaurant Putien has started a joint venture with Taiwan-listed Wowprime Corporation to open a Putien restaurant in Taipei by the end of this year.
This will mark Putien's fourth overseas market, after Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong and Jakarta where it has six outlets in total. It will also be opening two outlets in Shanghai at the end of 2015.
Wowprime, the largest chain restaurant in Taiwan, has 13 restaurant brands including Wang Steak, Sufood, and Tasty Cafes and more than 300 outlets in Taiwan, China and South Asia.
The joint venture will be the two companies' second partnership. Both had also teamed up two years ago to open Sufood, an Italian-inspired meat-free dining restaurant in Singapore.
