China says to strictly implement law against illegal GMO planting

[BEIJING] China will strictly implement laws prohibiting the planting of illegal GMO crops, the country's agriculture minister Han Changfu said at a press conference in Beijing on Monday.
Mr Han said the issue of illegal GMO planting was restricted to some regions, and was under control. It did not pose safety problems.
China would strictly punish offenders violating the law, he added.
