Fortescue chief says China wants 'fair game' on iron supply
Beijing
CHINA, the biggest consumer of iron ore, wants a diversity of suppliers of the steelmaking ingredient, according to the founder and chairman of Fortescue Metals Group Ltd, the world's fourth-biggest producer.
"China needs a stable supply and a diversified supply, they don't want concentrated supply," Andrew Forrest said in an interview on Saturday at the annual Boao Forum on the southern Chinese island of Hainan. "That way you get a fair game, Fortescue is part of that fair game."
