[NEW YORK] Spot gold prices eased in early trade on Sunday after Turkey's failed military coup.

The events may prompt some flight to safe-haven assets, but the impact was expected to be limited on global markets.

Spot gold was down 0.4 per cent at US$1,331.45 per ounce by 2219 GMT (6:19 pm ET).
