PALM oil companies, under pressure to improve the transparency of their supply chain, are now focusing on traceability as the next frontier in their sustainability efforts.
Used in everything from shampoo to plastics, palm oil has a complex supply chain given the large number of smallholders involved, with many intermediaries sometimes included in the journey of a fresh fruit bunch from grower to refinery.
