Shell Refining Malaya plunges to RM200m Q3 loss

STOCKHOLDING losses of nearly RM154 million (S$59.6 million) on the back of slumping oil prices have pushed Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Bhd to a loss after tax of RM200 million for the third quarter to end-September from a RM43 million profit a year ago.
Year to date, its losses widened to RM272 million (on stockholding losses of RM179 million) compared with a loss of RM119 million despite a stockholding gain of RM47 million. Loss per share for the quarter amounted to 66.59 sen versus earnings per share of 14.29 sen in 2013.
