US-China trade deal to benefit US gas sales

Gas will play a bigger role in trade ties as the Trump administration tries to cut trade deficit and as China seeks to raise the share of natural gas in its energy mix and reduce prices

After an executive from US liquefied natural gas exporter Cheniere Energy Inc spoke to a few hundred people at a conference in Beijing last week, the first question from the audience turned out to be an invitation to visit one of China's biggest energy firms and a main LNG buyer, the state-owned giant known as Sinopec.
