Abe now can run for a third term, but future clouded by scandal

A DECISION Sunday by Japan's controlling Liberal Democratic Party opened the way for Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to run for an unprecedented third term in office.

And, should he be elected, the Japanese leader is expected to push through controversial constitutional reforms.
