Analysts slam 'selective prosecution' in graft charges against Penang chief minister

CORRUPTION charges against Lim Guan Eng, Penang's chief minister (CM) and secretary- general of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), are a ploy by Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak to discredit the opposition ahead of the next general election, analysts say.

They added that the indictment - when Attorney-General Apandi Ali has yet to act on scandal-ridden state investment fund 1MDB - throws into question the AG's "selective prosecution" of individuals.
