ASEAN and US economic engagement needs more substance than just talk, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong told Singapore reporters on Thursday, after the 25th Asean Summit wrapped up here.
The 10-member regional grouping already has a free-trade agreement (FTA) separately with India, China, Australia and New Zealand, but its economic ties with the US lack that substance, he said.
