[TOKYO] Bank of Japan Deputy Governor Kikuo Iwata said it was hard to achieve 2 per cent inflation strictly within the central bank's self-imposed two-year deadline, the Asahi newspaper reported.
But end to deflation is in sight and there is no change in the broad uptrend in prices that will likely accelerate inflation to 2 per cent, the newspaper quoted him as saying in an interview.
