China can maintain 'medium-high growth': Xi
It will stick with economic reforms, he says in remarks aimed at boosting global confidence in nation's economy
Beijing
CHINESE President Xi Jinping said the nation's reforms won't be derailed by signs of economic weakness, and that the government is stepping up efforts to transform its model for growth.
"China has the capacity and is in the position to maintain a medium- high growth in the years to come," Mr Xi told the Wall Street Journal, according to written responses to questions published on Tuesday ahead of his first state-visit to the US. "The Chinese economy is still operating within the proper range."
