China civil servants get first pay hike since 2006

CHINA'S leaders just awarded all civil servants their first pay increase since 2006, with President Xi Jinping seeing his monthly salary rise to 11,385 yuan (S$2,451), the official China Daily reported on Tuesday.
That translates into a yearly wage of US$21,984 compared with US$400,000 for US President Barack Obama.
