EU extends sanctions against Russia over Ukraine for six months

[BRUSSELS] The European Union on Monday extended for another six months economic sanctions against Russia over its intervention in Ukraine.
The European Council, which groups the 28 EU member states, said the sanctions, first imposed in 2014 and due to expire at the end of January, will be rolled over until July 31, 2017.
