FDI flow between Singapore and Japan surged in 2014

DIRECT investment flows between Singapore and Japan spiked last year - and figures for the first six months of this year suggested the investment levels for 2015 will still likely be higher than those in 2013.
Singapore-based firms pumped US$1.43 billion into the Land of the Rising Sun in 2014, up sharply from US$330 million in 2013, the latest figures released by the Japan External Trade Organisation (Jetro) show.
Only in 2008 (US$2.72 billion) and 2010 (US$1.58 billion) were there bigger investment flows into Japan from Singapore, according to Japan's trade and investment promotion agency.
