GERMANY'S two-year note yields approached a record low as the nation auctioned securities of that maturity at the lowest yield ever.
Europe's largest economy sold 4.07 billion euros (S$6.2 billion) of 2017 notes on Wednesday at an all-time low yield of minus 0.38 per cent. German debt with maturities of between one and five years returned 0.2 per cent this month till Tuesday, compared with a one per cent loss on securities with due dates of a decade or longer, data compiled by Bloomberg show.
