IMF again warns on financial market stability

Senior IMF official points to "disappointing and fragile recovery" in world economy, and says "recent heightened volatility may be signaling deeper concerns" in markets

A SENIOR International Monetary Fund (IMF) official issued a further warning on Thursday that "global financial stability is far from assured against the background of a "disappointing and fragile recovery" in the world economy.

Speaking in Mumbai at a meeting organised by the Reserve Bank of India, IMF financial counsellor Jose Vinals said that "recent heightened volatility may be signalling deeper concerns" in markets than appears on the surface.
