IMF steps up aid for dealing with mounting humanitarian crises

THE International Monetary Fund (IMF) will speed up disbursement of funds and provide other help to countries fighting to cope with a rising tide of refugees and other humanitarian crises, managing director Christine Lagarde promised on Friday.
She made the pledge in a statement issued ahead of the first World Humanitarian Summit to be held in Istanbul next week.
