Indonesia posts US$738m trade surplus in Feb, imports slump
[JAKARTA] Indonesia posted a third straight monthly trade surplus of US$738.3 million in February, helped by a large fall in imports, the statistics bureau said on Monday.
A Reuters poll had expected a surplus of US$520 million in the month.
Exports in February continued to be weak at US$12.29 billion, down 16.02 per cent from a year earlier, the fifth month of decline, hit by a drop in shipments of oil and gas.
Imports also fell 16.24 per cent to US$11.55 billion, down for the fifth month as well.
