[JAKARTA] Bank Indonesia Governor Agus Martowardojo said on Friday that the central bank expects the country's annual growth rate in the third quarter to be 4.85 per cent.

In the second quarter, growth was 4.67 per cent, the lowest rate in six years.

Mr Martowardojo said the central bank is seeing improvements in inflation, which earlier this year was running at more than 7 per cent.

On Thursday, Bank Indonesia kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged. Central bank officials, who have a target of 3-5 per cent annual inflation, said they expect inflation to be below 4 per cent by year-end.
