[JAKARTA] Indonesia's annual inflation rate eased in September to 6.83 per cent from August's 7.18 per cent, the statistics bureau said on Thursday.
A Reuters poll had expected inflation to cool to 7.00 percent.
From a month ago, consumer prices were 0.05 per cent lower, compared to the poll's forecast of an 0.08 per cent rise.
But core inflation, which strips out volatile food and administered prices, edged up to 5.07 per cent in September from 4.92 per cent in August.
