INDONESIA'S inflation accelerated at a faster pace in April which might lead the central bank to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged this month as the country's economic growth forecast slowed in the first quarter amid weakening rupiah.

The national statistic bureau announced on Monday that the consumer price index rose by 6.79 per cent in April year on year compared with 6.38 per cent in March, as food and energy prices picked up.
