Indonesia's new cybersecurity head has rough start as polls loom

Much is at stake as Jokowi's govt prepares for regional elections ahead of the crucial mid-2019 polls

IT'S been a fairly rough start for Indonesia's new cybersecurity chief, Djoko Setiadi.

During his inaugural speech at the presidential palace in January, shortly after being inducted as head of the new Encryption and Cyber Security Agency (BSSN), Mr Setiadi invited ridicule when he suggested that "constructive hoaxes" might be good for the country.
