Lee Kuan Yew's determination made Singapore into dynamic city it is today: Malaysia PM
MALAYSIA'S Prime Minister Najib Razak said Singapore's former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew, who died early Monday morning, was responsible for developing Singapore into the dynamic city it is today.
"I am saddened to hear about the passing of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, founding Prime Minister of Singapore,'' the Malaysian prime minister said.
"I pay tribute to Mr Lee Kuan Yew's determination in developing Singapore from a new nation to the modern and dynamic city we see today. His achievements were great, and his legacy is assured.''
Mr Najib added that his thoughts and prayers are with Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and family.
"Malaysia is committed to the future of our relationship with Singapore; to peace, stability and shared prosperity between our nations, and within Asean as a whole," Mr Najib said.
