Lying in state extended to 24 hours daily until 8pm on March 28
VISITING hours for paying respects to the late Lee Kuan Yew have been extended to run around the clock, due to the public's "overwhelming response", the State Funeral Organising Committee said on Wednesday.
"The lying in state at Parliament House will be open 24 hours daily from today until March 28, 2015, 8pm," the committee said in a statement.
"Those who would like to pay their respects to the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew during the lying in state may wish to note that the line to enter Parliament House begins at the riverside Promenade next to Parliament House."
As at 3pm on Wednesday, the waiting time had stretched to eight hours, as thousands of people waited in line to pay respects to the late Mr Lee.
"Members of the public are advised not to join the queue now. Please check for latest updates at www.rememberingleekuanyew.sg and www.facebook.com/rememberingleekuanyew," the committee added.
