Mercer to develop skills framework and undertake wage study
CONSULTING firm Mercer was appointed on Thursday to develop a skills framework and undertake a wage study for human resources (HR) professionals in Singapore.
It was appointed by SkillsFuture Singapore, a statutory board under the Ministry of Education that is supported by the Singaporean tripartite Council for Skills, Innovation and Productivity.
The appointment incorporates the development of a National Skills Framework, development of Technical Skills and Competencies Reference documents, and a wage study for key job roles in HR.
A statement by Mercer said that this "demonstrates Singapore's strong commitment to the development of HR professionals, and the underlying education and training ecosystem for the HR discipline in Singapore".
The appointment closely follows the establishment of the Institute of Human Resources Professionals under tripartite partners - the Ministry of Manpower, the National Trades Union Congress and the Singapore National Employers Federation - to professionalise and strengthen the HR practice in Singapore.
