SINGAPORE's Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) has appointed Liew Jeanne as its new principal and chief executive officer.
Ms Liew is currently deputy principal (student and academic affairs) and registrar of Singapore Polytechnic (SP). She started her career in 1997 as a lecturer with Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP), and has also served as a deputy director in MOE's higher education division.
Ms Liew will be assuming her new role from July 1 onwards. She will be succeeding Chan Lee Mun.
Mr Chan - who has served in NYP for 23 years - was instrumental in setting up NYP's academic and assessment systems during the polytechnic's formative years.
In his last eight years as NYP principal and CEO, he has also spearheaded many initiatives in the polytechnic. These include the formulation of two strategic plans in 2008 and 2014 to focus on Pre-Employment Training (PET), Continuing Education and Training (CET), innovation and enterprise, as well as internationalisation.
