ENGINEERS will be able to get a boost in their career progression, thanks to the Engineers Progression Pathway launched on Thursday by the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES).

The three-tiered scheme helps both new and senior engineers move up the career ladder, by equipping them with the necessary leadership skills and expertise in technology management.

NTUC also announced that together with its U Associate partners, it will develop new career and skills progression pathways to strengthen the growth of professionals, managers and executives (PMEs) in other sectors.

Vivek Kumar, director of NTUC U Associate and the Future Leaders Programme, said the new pathway is "a prime example of NTUC's efforts in facilitating sectoral development through collaborations with our U Associates, to equip our PMEs with skills necessary to take on an increasingly competitive global workforce".
