EXPANSION of business activities in Singapore almost ground to a halt in October as new business orders and employment fell, with observers noting that a weakening outlook pervades the whole economy now.
The latest Nikkei Singapore Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI), which captures economic activity across different sectors, including manufacturing, services, retail and transportation, was released on Wednesday.
