Packaging waste requirements to apply across businesses

PICTURE this: 3,000 Olympic-size swimming pools filled with domestic waste, a third of which is packaging waste.
The National Environment Agency (NEA), its eye firmly on this mountain of domestic trash disposed of in Singapore last year - 1.73 million tonnes and likely to grow - is determined to reduce it by introducing mandatory requirements for packaging-waste management for Singapore businesses in the next three to five years.
