Pfizer opens development centre in Singapore
GLOBAL pharmaceutical company Pfizer on Wednesday launched its manufacturing technology development centre in Singapore.
The sum of investment for the centre, which is on Jurong Island, was not disclosed. But Pfizer said its new investment marks a further commitment by Pfizer to broaden the company's science and technology capability in the region.
Pfizer has a manufacturing facility in Tuas that employs more than 300 staff.
It said it will also collaborate with the Institute of Chemical & Engineering Sciences of A*Star (Agency for Science, Technology and Research), universities and other research institutes to advance and implement science and manufacturing technology.
