Philippine government to boost 2017 infrastructure spending to 6% of GDP

[DAVAO] The Philippine government plans to boost infrastructure spending next year to the equivalent of 6 per cent of gross domestic product, from this year's target of 5 per cent of GDP, the incoming budget chief told Reuters.
Benjamin Diokno, appointed budget secretary by President-elect Rodrigo Duterte, disclosed the target on the sidelines of a two-day business conference organised by the incoming economic team.
