Richard Li endorses Carrie Lam as next HK chief exec

TELECOMMUNICATIONS tycoon Richard Li, the son of Hong Kong's richest man Li Ka-shing, has openly endorsed former city chief secretary Carrie Lam in the election of Hong Kong's next leader.

The younger Mr Li, who chairs Pacific Century Group, revealed his support for her in an interview published by Hong Kong's Chinese newspapers on Thursday, just 10 days before the city is to elect its next chief executive by secret ballot.
