Singapore Budget 2018: Singapore to inject S$100m for NRF-Temasek IP Commercialisation Vehicle
TO support the commercialisation of intellectual property (IP) from publicly-funded research, the Singapore government will set aside S$50 million, alongside Temasek Holdings' investment of at least S$50 million, for the National Research Foundation (NRF)-Temasek IP commercialisation vehicle.
To be launched this year, the new joint venture will focus on investing in, building and growing start-ups with commercially viable business models that are underpinned by cutting edge science and technology generated from publicly funded research in Singapore, Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat said on Monday.
"This new investment venture will bring together Temasek's global investment networks and NRF's connections with Singapore's R&D community, to grow companies that draw on IP from publicly-funded research," Mr Heng said.
