Singapore business confidence improves further in Q3

BUSINESS confidence in Singapore has displayed further signs of improvement for the second consecutive quarter in Q3 2017, according to the business optimism index study released by the Singapore Commercial Credit Bureau (SCCB) on Tuesday.

The index jumped from +2.66 percentage points in Q2 2017 to +3.58 percentage points in Q3 2017.

On a year-on-year basis, the index rose from +1.11 percentage points in Q3 2016 to +3.58 percentage points in Q3 2017.

SCCB said the transportation sector is the most optimistic sector for Q3 2017 with six business indicators in the expansionary zone.

Meanwhile, sentiment in the construction sector remained muted with only two indicators in the expansionary zone.

The financial sector is the least optimistic sector with none of the indicators in positive territory.
