Singapore civil servants to get special SG50 Bonus of S$500
ALL 82,000 civil servants in Singapore will receive a special one-off payment of S$500 in July, in addition to their usual mid-year bonus which works out to be 0.5-month this year.
Making the announcement on Wednesday, the Public Service Division (PSD) said this S$500 bonus was in recognition of the civil servants' contribution towards nation-building.
The 0.5-month annual variable component (AVC) is the same quantum as in 2014, but higher than the 0.4-month that was paid out in 2013 and the 0.3-month in 2012.
All Division 4 civil servants - this group typically earns between S$1,416 and S$1,813 a month - will also get a built-in monthly wage increase of S$30, in addition to their annual increment in 2015.
In a statement, the PSD said this move signalled the government's "continued commitment" to help raise the salaries of low-wage civil servants. About 2,500 Division 4 officers will benefit from this increase.
The government added that it will decide on the year-end AVC payment after taking into consideration Singapore's economic performance in the second half of 2015.
