GE2015: WP unveils second batch of candidates
[SINGAPORE] The Workers' Party (WP) on Thursday introduced its second batch of candidates for the coming elections.
They are: Cheryl Denise Loh, 31, a sales consultant; Firuz Khan, 48, a chocolate factory owner based in the UK; Luke Koh, 41, chief executive of a holding company; and lawyer Terence Tan, 44.
Mr Khan, dubbed by some as Singapore's own Willy Wonka on Twitter, said his work at a children's home had exposed him to many cases of abuse, family violence and poverty. He was head of Pertapis Children's Home from 1999 to 2001.
Ms Loh said she grew up in a very humble background, and was raised mostly by her relatives. She was a former student of WP's chairman Sylvia Lim, and hope to champion causes in the area of education.
