Singapore remains top meeting and convention city in 2014
SINGAPORE has emerged as the top international meeting city in the Union of International Associations 2014 rankings for the eighth year running.
The city-state was also third in the top international meeting countries category.
Separately, it was also the only Asia-Pacific city to make the top 10 of the International Congress and Convention Association's rankings.
"The accolade is not only a validation of the strength of Singapore's Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) industry, but also a reminder that Singapore needs to continuously up its game in light of the increased competition," said Neeta Lachmandas, assistant chief executive (business development) for the Singapore Tourism Board (STB). "We will continue to enhance our vibrant MICE ecosystem further for a more remarkable experience for business visitors."
The STB said it has worked together with the MICE industry to craft the MICE2020 roadmap, which will help drive the development of Singapore's MICE industry in the coming years.
