[SINGAPORE] Singapore will report detailed data on gross domestic product (GDP) for the January-March quarter on May 26, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said on Tuesday.
The Economic Survey of Singapore containing detailed breakdowns of gross domestic product for the first quarter will be released at 8:00 am local time on Tuesday, May 26, the ministry said in a statement.
Economists expect a possible slight upward revision to January-March GDP, after data released last month showed that industrial production in March held up better than what was implied by the advance estimate of first quarter GDP. A jump in exports in March is another factor that could help nudge up growth.
The government's advance estimate of first quarter economic growth released on April 14 showed the city-state's economy grew an annualised 1.1 per cent from the prior quarter. Compared to a year earlier, first-quarter GDP expanded 2.1 per cent.
