The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) is holding a public consultation to gather feedback on the possible uses for land under viaducts.

The consultation by SLA - a statutory board with the Ministry of Law looking at the optimisation of land resources in Singapore - will be held from April 29 to May 20, 2015.

"There is much potential for spaces under the flyovers and MRT/LRT tracks to be creatively optimised for a variety of uses,'' SLA said on Wednesday.

It added that to facilitate the use of these unused spaces which are usually between 3,000 square metres to 6,000 square metres in size, SLA will explore installing basic amenities like water and electricity.

SLA manages some 13,500 hectares of State land and about 5,000 State buildings, which have largely been tenanted out for a variety of uses.

Feedback can be submitted using the form available on its website.
