Singapore's non-oil domestic exports rise 8.6% year on year in January
SINGAPORE'S non-oil domestic exports (NODX) jumped 8.6 per cent year on year in January, extending the increases in the previous two months (December 2016: 9.1 per cent and November 2016:15.6 per cent).
Month on month, the NODX was also up last month by a seasonally adjusted 5.0 per cent, reversing the 2.4 per cent dip in December, according to International Enterprise Singapore.
Except for Malaysia and the European Union, shipments to all 10 major markets rose in January, led by China (36.9 per cent), Taiwan (75.3 per cent) and South Korea (51.5 per cent).
Electronic NODX exports jumped 6.1 per cent year on year, extending the 5.7 per cent rise in December. Non-electronic NODX shipments grew 9.9 per cent.
