SingPass, CorpPass systems under maintenance again from midnight to 4am on Feb 13

[SINGAPORE] The SingPass and CorpPass systems will not be available to the public on Tuesday from midnight to 4am due to another round of maintenance.

Both authentication systems had previously undergone a comprehensive system review and " preventive maintenance" from 10pm on Sunday to 8am the next day.

This comes after two outages on Thursday and Friday last week that hit users trying to access hundreds of essential e-government services.

The Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech), the agency in charge of the maintenance of SingPass and CorpPass, told users in a Facebook post that maintenance was completed on Monday, 8am. The post added that users would be able to log into government digital services.

However, at 1pm, the agency said that there would be a second round of maintenance in the wee hours of Tuesday morning.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused," the post said.

Last Thursday, many users were unable to access the SingPass and CorpPass systems for about four hours.

The outages disrupted hundreds of essential e-government services such as the filing of employees' Central Provident Fund (CPF) contributions and work permit applications.

"Both incidents were not cybersecurity-related, and occurred due to a server fault," GovTech had said.

Set up in 2003 for Singapore residents to access e-government services, SingPass has more than 3.3 million registered users and supports 57 million e-government transactions, including the filing of income taxes, parking fine payments and foreign domestic worker applications.

CorpPass, rolled out in September 2016, is meant for corporate transactions, including the filing of corporate taxes and work permit applications.
