S'pore prices dip again on base effects

Economists expect this 'disinflation' to continue, noting that it follows from oil prices being at a significantly high base in H1 2014

JUST as economists expected, Singapore's headline inflation stayed in negative territory in December, edging up slightly to -0.2 per cent from November's -0.3 per cent. INFOGRAPHIC: Smaller dip in prices

Despite the second consecutive month of falling consumer prices, they say they do not see a deflationary trend in Singapore; instead, they believe the picture is more accurately described as disinflation - a situation in which prices continue to rise, but at a slower pace than before.
